dreaming about sewing

During my Mommy Staycation (was it only a week and a half ago?), I spent most of my two days sewing. I know, I’m totally boring, but it had been so long since I had sewn for fun. I really missed it! I pored through patterns and books, combed through my boxes of fabrics, and made a list of everything I wanted to make.

Guess how much I finished? One dress. And now I have a new stack of unfinished projects, and I’m almost sure that it sighs mournfully whenever I glance at it. Sewing always takes longer than I think, even for the sack dresses that I like to wear.

Still, it was fun to dream about my new handmade wardrobe. And to look at beautiful fabrics. Here are a few I was dreaming about:

A loose, sleeveless henley dress with this.

A drop-waist tank dress with this.

A flowy shirt with balloon sleeves with this.

All from Nani Iro. And all perfect for the free patterns they offer on their website, which seem really doable, even without knowing any Japanese.

And now, I’ll bid adieu to recreational sewing. Until the next Staycation, beloved serger… I’ll miss you!

Thanks for the link, Claire! That’s actually the same article that another commenter linked to, and I read it. That dad is pretty awesome.
