kind of a big deal

Friends, I’ve been working on a secret for a little while now, and it’s finally time to tell you. It’s an exciting piece of news for hello shiso, but I’ve been too superstitious to talk about it, as there were many times along the process when I wasn’t sure that it would work out. It’s been weird working on it so long without talking about it, but here it is: a few of my little hair clips are being sold at Tea Collection! Did you hear that? TEA COLLECTION!

I got an email from Tea some months ago out of the blue, and I was sure that it must be a prank, that I wouldn’t, couldn’t be hearing from a company I love so much. You know that vaguely suspicious feeling you get when something is too good to be true? Well, I experienced it for days while telling myself not to get my hopes up. I nearly died when they picked three of my best sellers to sell with their Fall collection. The last few months have been kind of crazy. I’ve had to learn a lot, and there were days when I would lie in bed, with my heart pounding, with no way to express how I was feeling. There were tears too, of course. But it was all worth it when I caught my first glimpse of my hair clips on their website.

They’ve released their new Nordic Design collection online, and I can see glimpses of the clips in many shots with the models. Here are a couple of my favorites:

You can also see me in the Accessories section. The catalog should be arriving in mailboxes sometime in August, and I’m looking forward to the arrival of Keri, my mailman, each and every day.
