camping

20 Sep

If you had told me, say, 6 years ago that one day I would be camping – CAMPING! – with a gaggle of small children and that I would enjoy it, I would’ve responded, “Yeah right. … No, seriously, dude. That’s not funny.”

Are you getting the idea that I’m a city girl?

Not that I slept there, mind you. I think I watched too many Friday The 13th movies during my formative years for that to happen without some therapy and a lot of hand holding. But I actually look forward to our annual trips now, with the lazy afternoons and hanging out with other families. I think I could actually (eventually) be won over to this camping thing.

Um, not sure you can all it “camping” if you don’t sleep in a tent.

Hey buddy, don’t you know that this positive reinforcement thing’s supposed to work? It does with small children, so I don’t know why it can’t work with a grown woman!

I positively encourage you to sleep in a tent ;)

Camping is one of the best recreational activities. It brings out the ‘cowboy’ in you and makes you resourceful. It is also a great way of unwinding. A form of relaxation and escape from the busyness of the real world. :)

Lol! If only camping meant hanging out in the woods all day, eating marshmallows and going home to your own bed. I regret to inform you that this is picnicing. Glad you had such a nice picnic :)

Camping (even just the tent part really) is other-worldly. I love what it does to the child’s imagination. And then there’s the forced downtime for the adults. Can’t beat that. So I’m assuming that, if not you, others slept in the tents?
