Can you tell? I’ve got spring on my mind. I’m so desperate for a useable backyard this summer that I’ve spent the last couple of days crawling around the garden, trying to clear the weeds that have taken over (and boy, is it bad). I’m not sure which will kill me first - the allergies or the backaches. I know it’s nuts (I’m so huge I don’t even have a bellybutton anymore), but the weather’s been beautiful these past few days and Otis has been happily playing in the sandbox we built him last year. I’ve already reclaimed a small area by the espaliered apple tree, rosemary and lavender we planted last year, so I feel encouraged and determined to continue. Keep your fingers crossed that my body holds up…

I love weeding! Just let me at your garden and I’ll weed to my hearts content for hours!!

I was doing the same thing in our front yard a couple of days ago…it was a little manic, but also cathartic! I kind of wondered if it was that “cleaning craze” that brings on labor that I have heard about!

You certainly do have spring on your mind. Is it me or are these more than a little phallic?

Just spent a happy 20 minutes checking out your old posts - I love your aesthetic. You don’t LOOK huge (and I”ve been wondering why we have that old rusty paper cutter still . . .) Congrats on your lucky find.

It will be so great when your blooms come out in the garden. I just bought a grapefruit tree and the blooms smell great.

I have sandbox paranoia. In Bklyn they were all giant litter boxes for stray cats, and here in TX one mama found her son’s sandbox filled with wasps and paralyzed tarantulas. Holy crap! Beware.
