Last Friday, we went to a pizza party at Otis’s daycare. It was nice to hang out, meet a few other parents, and chat with some of his teachers (unfortunately, he burst into tears at the sight of two of the nicest teachers around). We made devil’s food cupcakes with white chocolate frosting from this book. (Love the devil’s food, didn’t care for the white chocolate frosting.)
Otis helped! Checkit:
And helping me some more:
And look how helpful he can be! Two hands!
It’s amazing any of the cupcakes made it to the party at all.

Hey shisomama — Did you make Otis’ bib too? Looks like a fun project if I ever find a sewing machine!

I love Otis’ fashion in the kitchen.

Hi Shisomama,
Touches of colors in your neutral tone kitchen; a touch of yellow-green at the window, light grass green of a cup, different tones of green on Otis’ bib, chocolate brown and off white stripes with grey, an orange package and a yellow spatula. Otis looks great. I love this photo! Brown and grey together is traditional Japanese color combination, but it is so modern.

Yasuko, Otis is pretty much the only color in our entire house full of neutrals. I’m a big fan of neutral tones.

Shisomama,
I also believe in neutral tones. They are great back ground for the people who live in it. Thank you for the fun and inspiring blog.
